The National Cadet’s Corp’s (NCC) came to being in 1948. NCC is Youth development movement which has enormous potential for nation building with its total strength of over 13 lakh cadets from schools and colleges to develop qualities of character courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and sportsmanship and the ideals of selfless service among the youth to make them useful citizens. It has emerged as the biggest ‘uniformed’ youth organization of the country with its motto “Unity and Discipline”. The NCC is a tri-service organization of army, navy and airforce. The Director of NCC at NewDelhi, functioning directly under the ministry of Defense, is heading the organization.
